Fw: CHS '59ers Blog Update

Subject: Re: CHS '59ers Blog Update

Good going, Dru. Vandy is having a tough time tonight vs Georgia. I wish you were all here to cheer for Vandy! Alvin

Hey folks:  Dru here, having a bad day.  Think I was multitasking.  The third time is the charm.  Barbara Dalton Warner got cut off on the second send.  Names of clasmates where excluded from the second send.  Hence the third send which I hope is better.  Wish we all could have experienced the great fried chicken at Chappy's but, hey, our classmates are eager to share.  We all appreciate your keeping us in mind.  You could come to the next Lunch Bunch:
Linda Rogers Chambers writes: "We will meet again next month at noon on March 25 at Serendipity's in Red Bank."

Now, for Nashville where I am now a cliff dweller (four years).  We will meet either March 26 and 27 at Hermitage Smorgasbord in, of course, Hermitage where Andrew Jacksons lovely home is located.  David Parker, Alvin Fox, Melanie (Sissie Bowen) Hampton, and Dru Smith Fuller will be there.  Martha Gail Smith and Helen McDaris Mertz made the arrangements for a lovely private dining room and, of course, a smorgasbord (hey, that means something for everyone).  If you want to come on down let David Parker know at dyp714@bellsouth.net.  Hope you make it to Nashville.  Now, if any classmates from California hold a luncheon, don't be surprised when I show up.  I really love California and I have Reward points on Southwest Airlines.  Just sayin'. Hey, that applies to Indiana, too.

Your classmate, Dru Smith Fuller

CHS Lunch - Classmates at Champy's

Chattanooga Lunch Bunch plus Florida's finest

Floridian Bill Cross with Susie Turner Crouch
Today was our monthly CHS '59ers Chattanooga lunch with classmates.
We had the largest group so far with 14 attending.
Bill Cross was here from Florida and the only guy present but he didn't mind.  He just looked as if he had won the lottery.

We met at Champy's which is known for their fried chicken.  It was a new place for most of us but we all enjoyed ourselves.

From Linda and Susie: One last reminder

Lunch at Champy's (Famous Fried Chicken) at 11:45 Thursday, Feb 25. Love to see YOU there.
Hi folks,
At Carolyn Darr's suggestion, I just checked out Champy's on 9th Street for us to "do lunch". It is the cutest place and was packed at 1:00 on Saturday. We need to be there at 11:45 - the owner says they are packed every day at noon but he'll set up a table for us. From downtown it is just past Douglas on the right. There is a parking lot just before.
When I was in there I ran into Mike McAfee - so I invited him to join us. He said he would. Also, I'm excited that Bill Cross will be in town and he's going to join us. Wanda Sullivan, I hope you'll come back. We loved seeing you last time. I've also asked Lloyd Stanley to come - he doesn't know if he'll be free but hopefully he will. And, Della, I hope you'll join us too.
See ya'll Thursday at 11:45 (15 minutes early) and if I've forgotten anyone, tell them about it!
Love,
Susie Turner Crouch

Charley Wheeler remembers Gail White

I think her maiden name was Gail White. More people might recognize her by that name.

Susie Turner Crouch on Gail Coulter Gannaway Obituary

It saddens me to hear this. She was a lovely woman.

Gail Coulter Gannaway Obituary

Hi Dru,
Many of us knew Gail Coulter.  I think she graduated in 1960.  She was a beautiful and talented lady.  Just wanted to pass the info along.
