Tyler M. Smart, 21, born July 27, 1990, in Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on December 12 from complications related to cerebral palsy.
Tyler previously attended the Linda Nolen Center of Pelham, AL and graduated in May of this year from the Harrison County Child Development Center in Gulfport, MS.
Tyler was certainly one of God's special angels whose infectious smile would make you want to put your arms around him and hug so tightly you never wanted to let go. His now-healed body will forever be wrapped in the most loving arms ever, our Heavenly Father's. Just knowing that he can now play, talk, and even run with his friends takes away some of the heartache his many friends and family are experiencing. We will miss him terribly but can look forward to the day that we can once again hold his hand and smile with him.
He is survived by his mother, Becky Smart (Christian Baehr) of Long Beach, MS; his father, Gary Smart, and brother, Jesse Smart, of Alabaster, AL; and his grandparents Jeanne and Jimmy Moore, of Gulfport, MS; Joe and Jane Whitson, of Georgetown, TN; and Darby Smart of Chattanooga, TN; and his special uncle Brian Smart of Chattanooga. His grandfather, Walter Smart, of Chattanooga, predeceased him.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 16, at Crossbridge Church of Christ, 3039 Brook Highland Parkway, in Birmingham, from 4pm until time for the memorial service at 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a donation to the Linda Nolen Learning Center's Memorial Garden in Memory of Tyler M. Smart, 2280 Highway 35, Pelham, AL 35124.
