Robert's house

My cup of tea, too, Marsha! I love his house. I wish I could see it, too. We live in a 1914 Arts and Crafts Bungalow that we restored, but nothing like this mansion! Thanks for sharing, Robert.

I am in tune with Nathan, ready for good news.

Carolyn

Marsha Moore Cunningham sends compliments...

Robert, Not enough adjectives to describe your incredible achievement!  Wow  It's gorgeous! Just MY cup of tea! Wish I could join the celebration.  My best to all,  Ta Ta, M (Marsha Moore Cunningham)

Good news from Nathan Pearlman...

Bob, that is good news; great news would be if I was able to come, but right now it doesn't look like I can get away; taking care  of 2 of my grandsons.
As tough as it is to hear about our deceased classmates and/or their families, maybe we should try to post the good-great things that we, 59ers, are experiencing. I would like to know of the "good" stuff as well as those things that cause our hearts to feel pain.
Some other good news from me, about me, is that I am absolutely GREAT at this retirement thing. Also my 6 year old grandson, who had Lymphoma when he was 3, is doing fantastic; playing baseball, soccer, swims, doing better in kindergarten than I ever did through my entire education process, and everytime I get down, I think of the months of treatment this little 3 year old endured, I realize my "stuff" is no big deal.

Robert Curry updates his house restoration,,,

Dru,  You posted an old old picture of the house.  We bought this place in March of 2002 and have nearly finished a rather complete restoration.  The website address is http://picasaweb.google.com/scurrey/SpartaHouse#5403034570345144994

Good News from Georgia

The Harley-Harris-Rives House at  Elm Street, Sparta, Georgia
Well Dru some Good News from Sparta Georgia.  The Hancock County/Sparta CHS 59ers are having a get together at The Harley Harris Rives House here in Sparta on July 4th.  Those graduates from near and far are welcome to the Celebration!  I know that at least one graduate will be here and am quite sure that his dog Rives and cat Harley will also be in attendance.  We plan to have BBQ Tofu, Pinto beans and sliced tomatoes in addition to other garden savories. I will most certainly keep you all informed of the event along with pictures of all the noted attendees.  So Nathan, you asked for good news and here it is.  Let me know if your coming.  All are welcome.  15 Elm Street   Sparta, Ga. 31087

Thats the good news from Sparta.  Robert Currey

PS  Hopefully there will be a big contingent from Chattanooga joining the festivities.

Expression of sympathy from Nathan Pearlman

There just aren't any words that can take away the pain that Vicki White is going through; the same for Susie Crouch and Rick Mitchell. Just want you to know I'm thinking of you and that you guys have many friends who are thinking of and wishing you just the good memories.

After the past few blogs, boy, wouldn't it be great to hear good news. Oh wait, Wendy was gone this week end!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vicki's e-mail address

There has been some confusion about Vicki Daniel White's e-mail address.  When Dru added it to my post on the blog there was no "d" in it.  The correct e-mail is vicd42white@gmail.com.  I put the correction on the blog but not sure all go there.  Thanks   Carolyn Massoud Presswood

Linda Rhoden McKinney sends sympathy ....

Dickinson/CHS classmates lunch by the lake (with correction)

(standing) Patty Brewer, Charlotte Meacham Morgan, Nancy Gordon Griffith, Betty Anderson Dunn,Sandy Wooten Wright (seated) Linda Rogers Chambers, Anne Johnson, Dianne Fuller Adams  (Nancy Gordon Griffith's name was left out of a previous post)

Dickinson/CHS classmates gathered at the Privateer Yacht Club and enjoyed a great lunch by the lake on the porch of the club house.  Diane Fuller Adams was our hostess.  She attended City for one day and then transferred to Central.  We love her anyway.  Patty Brewer attended CHS part of her sophomore year and then moved to North Carolina.  We all went to Dickinson together.

Linda Rogers Chambers.

Della regrets ....

Hey,  I'm sure that all of you will be surprised, but I'm going  to be
out of town.  Hopefully, I'll be there for the next one.

Love to all, Della

Birthday greetings to David Willbanks and Marti Brown

I, also, want to wish David and Marti happy birthdays, and I am looking forward to seeing all at our next "reunion" event.

I hope you have very memorable days and do something very special.

Happy Birthday Ann Tyer Waddey!

Happy birthday, Ann. I really has been super to have "renewed" our friendship over these past few years while working with you and "what's his name." I know you will have a very happy birthday, and make sure Lew treats you everyday like it was your birthday; i.e. have him do what you tell him to do, just like Wendy makes me do.

Susie Crouch: "I didn't know Pennie was in our class?"

Susie:  Right you are!  Pennie is among my Facebook friends so I got a notice of her birthday.  I remember her well from school so thought she was in my class.  Pennie's birthday is actually June 14, 1942.  Also, Pennie wrote on her Facebook wall June 7:

Pennie Richelson Pearlman I'm back from a quick weekend trip to Chattanooga. It was long planned as my high school reunion, which was very well done and great fun. I went to a wonderful school with so many accomplished, admirable people. Chattanooga High School did a pretty good job of educationing many generations of Chattanoogans.·

She was a 1960 CHS graduate.  Sorry!  I'll post to the blog.  Dru

Ann Tyer Waddey: Happy Birthday to all of us.

Dru, Thank you for the good wishes.  I appreciate every single one!  Lew is the younger man in my life.  His birthday doesn't fall until July 9!  He brings that up often.  Again, thanks for all you do.  Happy Birthday to all of us.  This is a very special group.  Love, Ann

Nathan Pearlman on Pennie's birthday

Happy birthday to you Pennie; an absolutely wonderful lady and person, an unbelievably terrific mother and grandmother, and the most phenomenal ex-wife any man, or boy in my case, can have. Nothing but the very best for the very best.

Best wishes to Nashvillians from Nancy Poole Klein

Dru, what a nice surprise when I turned my computer on a few minutes ago.  The picture is great, and you do such a good job keeping us up with Nashville.  You all look like you had a good time.

Also, thanks to Alvin for the great rainbow picture.  What a good reminder that better days are ahead for Nashville after the great flood.  I will be in Nashville on Tuesday for the annual meeting of the Tennessee Retired Teachers' Association, and I know that I will still see some remnants of the damage.  I know that it has been quite a month for all of you who live there.

Love to ya, Nancy Poole Klein

Compliment from Linda Rhoden McKinney

Nashville group is looking goooooooood!!!!!  So glad they are getting together so regularly.
Warmest regards to all, Linda Rhoden McKinney
