Chatt. CHS59ers want to meet regularly!

Gaynelle Hixson Smith and Linda Rogers Chambers have been chatting on Facebook about the possibility of our Chattanooga area classmates meeting regularly, say at a restaurant. No committee meetings, just fun and fellowship. Their idea was to set a date and time and hope for the best in attendence, no correspondence or RSVP's needed. What do you think? Let's see what response we get!
Our next "big" reunion will be our 70th birthday party, planned for summer of 2011, date to be announced.

Hello to all,
Carolyn (Thomas) Presswood

Sgt. Joe E. Key

Sgt. Joseph W. Key, ROTC instructor at CHS during our years there, died on July 24,2009. His obituary can be read online @ chattanoogan.com. Sgt. Key was a decorated veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He retired as a SFC E-6 in May, 1961.
Our thoughts are with his family at this time, and we honor his years of service to our country and at CHS.

Picnic

Thank you and Susie Turner Crouch and Nancy Pruett Johnston for the fine party. I'm sorry I was so late. We couldn't get our friends off the boat. I was quite upset, but realized there was nothing I could change. It all worked out. Let's do it again real soon.

Picnic

Jim McKinney and I really enjoyed the Chattanooga Reunion Committee picnic and thank all responsible for such a good time - special thanks to Nancy Pruett and Shuford Johnston for allowing us to gather at their beautiful home as well as to Susie Turner Crouch. Hopefully we will get together again before too long.

Warmest regards, Linda McKinney

Hello everyone,

Please add my thanks and gratitude to Susie Turner Crouch's note. I'm feeling an afterglow from being with you Saturday that is so soul- satisfying.

My life is made richer having you for a friend.

Dotty Eldridge Jacobs' loss

We are blessed that Don did go so fast.  It was a massive heart attack. The Dr's had only given him another couple of months before the cancer took him.  It would have been so painful for him to go through even with hospice and for me to watch him suffer.  Bless his heart, he  never knew what hit him. We had a beautiful Saturday for which I will always be thankful.

I still do not know how to get on the blog and write anything so, Dru, if you could just put a small notice out I would appreciate it.  There were so many who knew he was ill.

Again, I want to thank you for the wonderful job you did in helping our 50th be such a success.  We are the best of the best!!!! No doubt about it. Anne, Susie, Carolyn, Kent S. both of them, Nathan, Sharon, Vickie and make some great team.  I know there are many more that I can not name at this moment but they also did outstanding work.  Not only did I get to see so many ol friends, but have made contact with several via email that could not attend.  Hugs to all.

Thank you again;

Fondly,

Dotty (Eldridge Jacobs)
