What we have been doing since the reunion. Well, we just got back from Dale Hollow, TN where we were camping with my brother and his wife. It sure was hot, but we had fun. I've been very busy, but happy. My life would consist of many less hours on the highway if we lived in TN, but we cannot leave these WONDERFUL grandchildren. Louella Cherry Spencer |

Reunion committee
Carol,
Thanks for your note. It took a team effort to pull it off. Thanks also for your part in the reunion. The signs you made looked professionally done and no wonder! I appreciate that you shared your talents and time for the reunion.
Anne Johnson
Hi Anne,
Life has been rather hectic since our reunion. As a result I have been remiss in dropping you and the committee an intended note. The reunion was spectacular. What a turn out! Everything seemed to come off beautifully and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. So many favorable comments! People are still talking about what a success it was. If there were any "hitches" no one knew except maybe whoever was directly involved. All of you did a phenomenal job. You, Carolyn, Susie, Vicki, Dru and all deserve a huge round of applause and many, many thank you's for your hard work and countless hours meeting and planning.

Thanks to an All-Star CHS'59 Reunion Committee
Let me add my thanks to Susie Crouch and the whole committee for a job well done. During the 10 years, (hard to believe!) that we have worked together planning reunion gatherings we have honed our skills, and made wonderful friendships. Our new friends often were mere acquaintances in high school-and we feel all the richer now for your companionship, teamwork, and for the sharing of your energy and gifts. It is a pleasure to know you. I look forward to being with you again.

Susie's report and her tributes
Dear Reunion committee members, Our bank account is happy and healthy and that makes me happy! Today, I paid the final bill for reunion expenses and I am expecting another refund from the CG&CC. They overcharged us a tad! I have written Bill Carter a thank you note for the beer as well as Jim Kreis at GPS for allowing us to use their parking. I have also sent David Pearce a personal note of thanks for the wine. I plan to bring some of his red to our next gathering which you will hear about from Anne Johnson. I thank each and every one of you for your part in this most successful reunion ever! I want to see you soon. Love from North Chattanooga, Susie Turner Crouch
My thanks to all of you; it really was a "Magic Moment." Nathan Pearlman
And thanks to you, Susie Crouch, for all of your hard work and for taking care of our healthy bank account so well. One of the hardest jobs is handling someone else's money and making it all balance. You have done an excellent job and we all truly appreciate you. Linda Chambers
In the words of William Manchester, this was for our Class one brief shining moment. Thank you for allowing me to be on the Committee with you and to be a part of the program. I never had as many people to be as nice to me and to say such nice things to me as in those three days. I hope that we all live to see one another again. I love you all, David Young Parker
Susie Crouch, Your expertise in keeping our reunion funds in order is evident and greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for the hours of work and energy expended in keeping us financially straight! My gratitude is extended to all the committee for including me, as we prepared and shared this rare and memorable moment in time. It seems all our lives have been enriched from sharing in this endeavor. Love to all, Sharon Tunnell
Susie Crouch, you are the best!!! The hardest job in any endeavor is that of treasurer, I believe. Carolyn Presswood

Bill Waldrep, I am forwarding this to the blog, including your recommendation.

To: Anne Johnson:
David Parker can probably tell you who they all are. try that first. Tucker did a good job. Thanks

To: Anne Johnson:
Just want to thank you for all of your work on the reunion. It was a great party and you all did an excellent job. Keep up the blogging. Can you get others to send pics with names? because we did not get a chance to remeet everyone.......and us older ones cannot remember names of those we met. It was great to see you even though we did not get a chance to really talk. Thanks for all that you did.
Bill Waldrep
P.S. Would be willing to help on future reunions and anything in Atlanta
area.
To: Bill Waldrep,
I understand and agree about the need for names attached to the candid photos. I asked Tucker Photography to record names for the Memory Book and I hope that we can do it. It will not be simple though. I wonder if there is a way that we could identify ourselves on line while looking at the proofs. I suspect someone in the class could tell us how to accomplish this. Let's see if we can make this happen!

junior high and candid shots preview
Last evening I relived the reunion during a 400 plus slide show from Tucker Photography. If you have not done it already, I recommend you view it. You can see and (buy) photos. There are several different shots of each junior high--you can choose the one in which you look best!

Three weeks later I still feel the reunion "after glow".

CHS '59ers at 2009 Reunion
Alvin Fox took this picture at the May 2009 reunion. Look for your best friend on the steps. Thanks, Alvin.

Isn't it just wonderful. Only a Chattanooga High School 1959 Graduate could take such a lovely picture, and be in it, too. How did I do that? Thanks to the spouse of one of our classmates who, using MY CAMERA, took such a great picture! Alvin
From Delmar (Lee Reynolds) List of reunion attendees?
Hi Susie, Like Pat Young, I, too, would be interested in knowing who came to the reunion. If possible, when you e-mail the list to Pat, could you please e-mail me a copy also? I have a fairly detailed photo of the group on the front steps of CHS, but I know of several people who came to the reunion who did not get to CHS in time to be in the photo. And there were some folks at the Friday night affair who didn't get to the Sunday brunch, etc. People have asked me how many we had and I really don't know. I must tell you how grateful all of us are to you and the rest of the group who put this sensationally successful reunion together. We were aware of how much work you all were putting into it, but only when we saw the results did it dawn on a lot of us that had you all not done all that you did, that it would never have been such a remarkably enjoyable event. And event is really what we had - it wasn't just a reunion, it was an event. Nobody will ever forget it, and it is to you and the rest of the folks who did all the endless preparatory work that we owe our thanks. I expect everyone feels this way - I certainly know that I do- so please accept grateful thanks from me and Christine and if you wish to pass this along to the rest of the event-makers, formerly known as the reunion committee, please do so. Best to ya, Lady, Delmar (Lee Reynolds) Lee Reynolds confederatesub@yahoo.com www.leeworks.addr.com |

Susie Turner Crouch's message
I got an email from Pat Young asking for a list of reunion attendees. He was amazed at how many friends he didn't get to talk to. I agreed that that was my biggest regret too not being able to meet and reacquaint myself with so many.
Pat also suggested that I make available the list or post it on the blog. So, if you are interested just let me know and I'll send you a copy via email.
Love from North Chattanooga,
Susie Turner Crouch
