Bet you wish you'd been there!

Mary Helen McDaris and Martha Gail Smith served up a smörgåsbord (along with the crew at Hermitage Smörgåsbord) to their Nashville-based CHS '59er classmates.

Conversation turned to City High's historic rivalry with Central High, whether or not David still seemed shy and how Martha Gail's work at the Gideon Bible HQ had saved so many people.

We saluted Col. Alvin and Col. Martha along with Mary Helen, wife to a high ranking career officer.  Mary Helen served the country as a civilian teacher at military bases around the world.

Melanie, the Commish who ran the state for 35 years, confessed she learned her leadership skills as girls volley ball team captain at City.

Famous Hermitage Smörgåsbord fritters topped off the feast with friends.

Col. Alvin Fox, Mary Helen McDaris, Dru Smith Fuller, Martha Gail Smith, David Parker, Commissioner Melanie Sissie Bowen Hampton and Col. Martha Hassler Hammond at Hermitage Smörgåsbord
