from Paul Robere in downtown Bangkok

Paul Robere: The situation continues in it's intensity with the government gradually stepping up the pressure for the protestors to stop their violence. We're safe...as far as anyone in downtown Bangkok is.Our office building was evacuated yesterday pending a possible problem with drive by shootings at high-rise buildings. The news of the conflict can be followed at: www.bangkokpost.com for any who are interested.Today, we have a virtual town-hall meeting with Ambassador Eric John on lthe current situation.
Embassy staff families have been given the opption to leave the country if they wish..As I sit in my office this morning..there is a gray haze over the city left over from lthe burning tires in various locations.
Dru Fuller: Safe sounds good.  I'll let folks know.  Cable TV has pictures every day. I think I heard they closed the embassy.
Paul Robere: Yes, the American Citizens Services (visa, etc) is closed this week.  The Embassy at large remains open with limited staff as it's near the major conflict. Thanks for letting our Dynamos know..
Dru Fuller: You are plenty welcome.
