Creed Bates Speech
"By their fruits ye shall know them."
Ideally, the fairest criterion of evaluating a school would be an evaluation of its alumni, if by some magic means we could determine the relative influence that particular school had on the lives of those alumni.
Through the years the record of Chattanooga High School continues to elicit our admiration.
Numbered among them are scholars, outstanding scientists, responsible public officers, business leaders, and successful men and women in all walks of life.
In this school we strive for intellectual integrity, for civic and patriotic virtue, and for the development of well-adjusted students.
You have been an important and vital part of City for the past three years.
We hope that you have benefited in full measured from your sojourn with us.
We believe in you and have full confidence that you will do well your part for your community and country.
