Anne, et al -
Soon after you asked about the year of Miss Pryor's death, I received an
email from another of our classmates (Ritch Christopher) asking if I had a
copy of her obit. I usually retain a copy of the obituary notice in the
file when I handle the probate of an estate, so this morning I had the file
pulled, and voila! there it was. I'm attaching the obit along with copies
of memorial editorials that were run in each of the local newspapers. They
are JPEG Images and you should be able to open them with Microsoft Office
Picture Manager. If you're not able to open them, let me know and I'll be
glad to fax them or mail a hard copy.
A bit of information:
Miss Pryor died on June 9, 1992, at the age of 77; and her Estate had a
value of approximately $520,000. Other than some small bequests (mostly
family heirlooms) for her sister and a niece, Miss Pryor left her entire
residuary Estate to three beneficiaries: First-Centenary United Methodist
Church, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and the
Chattanooga-Hamilton County Public Library. After administration
expenses, taxes and a few small debts, UTC, the church, and the library each
received approximately $160,000. Oh, yes, her Will left to Richard Belcher
and William McKinney the following:
"any and all materials relating to Chattanooga High School, including
scrapbooks, pictures, mementos and the like (excepting herefrom my
collection of Chattanooga High School annuals) which I may own at the time
of my death." [She gave her collection of approximately 70 CHS annuals
(spanning more than 40 years) to the public library.]
I'm sending this to several who have been so involved in planning the
reunion and I leave to your discretion whether to publish the obit and the
memorials on the blog or perhaps to display copies with the collection of
memorabilia that will be displayed in the hospitality room.

I wrote her Will and handled the probate of her estate. I generally put a
copy of the obituary in the file. I'll have the file pulled tomorrow and get
the obit for you.
FYI we now have 220 reservations for the dinner. Several others have told
Susie they are sending a check. Also, I understand there may be a few of our
teachers who are coming. Mary Barker for one. I don't know who else. Not
many still living. I expect we'll have around 230-235 for the banquet.

Does anybody know which year she died? I'd like to find her obituary.
Thanks, Anne
